PMRC 298 Webinar – Various PMRC 2020-related Technical Reports

This webinar targets current ACPs (Accredited Competent Person) and aspiring ACPs in Geology. It aims to provide practical guidance on best practices and tips to be considered in the preparation of PMRC 2020-compliant Technical Reports for Exploration Results, Exploration Targets and Mineral Resources.

The webinar is also open and aims to attract ACP and non-ACP Mining and Metallurgical Engineers interested in and who are normally consulted to contribute in the preparation of these technical reports. The webinar will hopefully become a forum for these allied professions to have the opportunity to gain practical knowledge and understanding on various mineral deposit types, which they may have the opportunity to work with in the future.

Current ACPs in Geology are strongly encouraged to attend this training program to acquire the necessary report writing skills and be familiar with the relevant sectional topic outline to be included in PMRC 2020-related Technical Reports specific to the deposit type of interest within their respective Projects.

GeoCon 2024

INVITATION

On behalf of the Geological Society of the Philippines Scientific Committee, we are thrilled to invite you to participate in the annual Geological Convention or GeoCon2024. This year’s conference theme, “GeoCon2024: Filipino geologists - Bridging geoscience, technology, and industry for a better Philippines” aims to bring together professionals and researchers from a wide range of disciplines in geosciences.

The conference will serve as a conduit for geoscience professionals and academics from different fields to have a dialogue on a broad range of topics that includes the role of geoscience in energy development; geochemical and geophysical approaches to study volcanism and tectonics; seismic, landslide, and earthquake engineering studies; hazard recognition, forecasting, and mitigation; and future environmental issues and trends.

GeoCon2024 offers both oral and poster scientific sessions.

DATE AND VENUE

GeoCon2024 will be held from December 4 - 5, 2024 in Novotel, Araneta Center, Philippines. Additional details regarding the conference venue will be released in the succeeding circulars.

The main topics for this convention are the following:

  • Technology, innovation, and industry: Current issues and trends in energy, water mineral resources.
  • The Solid Earth: Contributions ranging from petrological, geochemical, and geophysical approaches to basic research.
  • The Dynamic Earth: Tectonics, Volcanism, and Climate Change.
  • Earth’s history: Stratigraphy and Paleontology
  • Geoscience education and communication.
  • Geohazards: Evaluation and Mitigation.
  • AI and machine learning: approaches in geoscience.

Abstract submissions for other geoscience-related topics are also welcome.
